Project to bring writers to the New School for a reading

Motion for full funding ($840.00)

  1. Hub Up: Disturbanist Discourse

    2. Amount requested: $2,225

Motion for ($1,700.00) with the stipulation to cut food expenses to $15 per person. USS does not fund student wages for Jazz band.

    2. Requesting $235.50-$361.50 (estimates)

    Student to attend Harvard Black & Design conference

Wanja motions to deny funding, seconded by Patrick

With the stipulation that the student did not allow enough time until the event. OSDA regulation requests a minimum of 3 weeks between funding request and event.     Also, no definite amount was requested.

  1. Kalu Yala: Internship

    1. Requesting $4,995

Student to travel to Kalu Yala (Panama) to take part in internship

    Simons motions to deny funding, seconded by Patrick.

With the stipulation that there is not enough evidence for the benefit to the student body. Student did not have clear plan how to disseminate the learning from the internship to student body.

    1. Hosted by the Drama School

    2. Requesting $1,800

    Student to organize haunted house on University Center 5th floor

    Patrick motions to deny funding, seconded by Simon.

With the stipulation to speak to Facilities about holding the event at the University Center and to seek ok from students who primarily use the area. Student can return to apply for funding when they have a clearer view.

  1. The Husserl Seminar presents:Intersections between Phenomenology and Psychoanalysis

Simon motions for funding ($676.00), seconded by Patrick.

With the stipulation to cut hotel accommodation to one (1) night for the requested rate of $271, food cost to $15 per person.

Students Planning exhibition from the research between Nov 19 - Jan 26 at the Sheila C.Johnson Design Center

With the stipulation that $750.00 is granted provisional, because the senate wants to see an itemized budget for reception/events.

    Student organizing a talk with various philosophers around the world.

With the stipulation to cover hotel only for four (4) for one (1) night & flights.

The senate would like to see an itemized budget or refreshments and feels mailing can be done digitally.

Student to present at IASC Thematic Conference on Urban Commons in Italy and upon return give open lecture to student body.

With the stipulation that funding is conditional to open lecture.
