  1. Student Satisfaction Survey-Tet Lopez-Rabson. Meeting with COO, VP, Director of Institutional Research Wednesday October 21st 2015

Admin is seeking assistance from the USS for building student engagement towards completing the surveys.

Brooke: reaching out to student groups

Nico: having direct rewards to incentivise students

Serengeti: making it mandatory to get %100 response

Logan: Taking a small sample of students to represent a majority

Mohammed: having a competitive aspect to it, creating % per division to see which divisions participated the most

Serengeti: Once results are received, Admin should create a report assessing the changes that might result from the outcome of the survey.

Constitutional Amendment: Co-Chair Delegation Act Sponsored by Nico Galvan

ARTICLE VI: POWER AND DUTIES

B.5.1.Co-Chairs

As the Constitution currently stands:

“B.5.1.Co-chairs

B.5.1.1.Acting as the liaison with university administration

B.5.1.2.Acting as initial contact with inquiring students through the official USS email account.

B.5.1.3.Gathering of official agenda.

B.5.1.4.Coordinating and moderating all meetings.”

Approval of this Constitutional Amendment will include the following

“B.5.1.4. Co-Chair Delegation Act

Upon unanimous decision by the Co-Chairs, a Co-Chair will be given the ability to delegate reasonable USS related tasks to Senators within a reasonable deadline. The deadline for this USS related task must be agreed to by the Senator who wishes to achieve this task for this amendment  to take effect. For any task, Senators will be encouraged to volunteer. In the event no volunteer is present, the Co-Chair will have the authority to delegate this task to the Senator of his or her choosing.

 

After being assigned the task, the Senator the task is assigned to must complete the assigned task with the agreed deadline. Failure to achieve his or her task within the agreed deadline, as delegated by the Co-Chairs, or a Co-Chair, upon unanimous decision of the Co-Chairs, will be suspended, as determined by ARTICLE XII, Section D of the Constitution, until the completion of the task.”

 

 

Constitutional Amendment: University Student Committee Act, Sponsored by Nico Galván

ARTICLE VI: POWER AND DUTIES

As they currently stand:

“C. All budget expenditures, fundraising, and other fiscal activities of the University Student Senate shall comply with all applicable university policies and guidelines regarding the collection, distribution, and expenditure of funds by student organizations.

D. Good Faith Clause: All Senators, as Representative Board and Executive Board members of the University Student Senate, shall execute their duties, both explicit and implicit, and any other activities related to the USS, in good faith.”

 

“C. University Student Senate Committees

C.1.1. Power within the Committee will reside within the Chair or Co-Chairs of the Committee.

C.1.2. The Chair or Co-Chair of the Committee will have the sole authority regarding the membership of  the committee, regardless if a committee members is student is on the Representative Board or no.

C.1.2. Committee presentations will only be presented for a full vote in front of the University Student Senate if the Committee votes in favor of the proposal with at least a supermajority of 60%.
